Present: LaTresa Wiley, Bob Fisher, David Garvin, Barb Pott
Health Fair:
David will staff the WC-FaBCAV information booth at the Heath Fair
from Noon to 3:00 and LaTresa will staff it from 3:00 to 5:00. The fair
will be on Saturday, August 23. WC-FaBCAV members are encouraged to give
their organization's information about their non-violence (anti-violence
or peace-building) activities to David by Friday, August 22 at 3:00 PM
so that it can be distributed at the fair. David and LaTresa will also
be giving out WC-FaBCAV info, of course. Anyone who would be willing to
help out and keep David and LaTresa company at the fair are encouraged
to do so.
Barb agreed to handle communications for the coalition. Barb asked that minute-taking responsibilities be rotated among the membership.
Bob will ask if Friends Meeting can be placed among the membership in the WC-FaBCAV letterhead.
There was discussion to have monthly meetings with the core group of active members and quarterly meetings with the larger group. Quarterly meetings will include presentations and various educational components along with hospitality (similar to the May meeting with different types of presentations).
A desire to have the email list grow was mentioned and all agreed. We need to let as many people and faith-based communities as possible know about this effort.
Agenda for the September 25 meeting:
Feedback from the Health Fair activity
Plan a calendar of quarterly meetings
Prioritize/clarify objectives and next steps
Review the email contact list and use of it (who gets all info and
who gets quarterly meeting info?)
Next Meeting:
